Family Files at the Schenectady County Historical Society as of 12/2006.  By policy, library staff are not allowed to copy the entire  contents of large folders. When contacting the Society for research, please be as specific as possible with regard to the information sought.

To make our local files useful to as many genealogists as possible, we would like copies of your family records. We invite anyone who has genealogical records of people who lived in Schenectady County to send them to us. Please send your data in one of these formats (in order of preference):

1. E-mail a GEDCOM to our Librarian.
2. Mail a CD or diskette in GEDCOM, Word, or ASCII format to our headquarters*.
3. Other disk formats may be OK, but ask first.
4. Printed paper records.
5. Handwritten records (Please write clearly).
