As our contribution to the 2009 Bicentennial of the founding of Schenectady County, SCHS has commissioned a beautifully illustrated coffee-table size book, Historic Schenectady County, authored by Gazette Newspapers feature writer Bill Buell and edited by Society President Ed Reilly. The book will be published in spring 2009. The illustration is a draft of its front-to-back wraparound dust jacket. In addition to the narrative, which covers the founding of Schenectady by Arendt van Curler in 1661 through the present, the book will include images of additional paintings by Len Tantillo and others and a section of profiles of the historic Schenectady businesses who are supporting its publication.
When ordered in conjunction with Historic Schenectady County, the price is
just $25 + $5 s&h. This book would be
shipped immediately, and the new book when published in 2009.
